Incident Command Training is the
organizational and management approach to incident response
and crisis management operations and is based on the principles
of the Incident Command System (ICS). The ICS is used because:
• It addresses all risks and all hazards.
•
It provides consistent principles, terminology, and procedures
that facilitate team building
and communications within an emergency and crisis response organization
and between an organization and other involved response organizations
•
It is a mature system.
•
Although complex, it is relatively easy to learn and to apply
in actual and simulated incidents
•
It has been adopted by most government agency incident response
organizations in the United States, and is also being adopted
in many foreign countries.
•
It works.
